After perusing the calendar, I (and some other unmentionables) discovered a great place on the playa to promote the project.

Intro/Info

Hey all! this is owen's twin liam, hella siked about this project and gettin back out to the man, been 2yrs since I was last out there for the green man, such great times!! and more to be had. Was just reviewing some info on the bman site and read this and thought it would be useful for keeping things clean specially after a day in the studio and not wearing more playa covered clothes after a sunshower.

Better Living

Pitch a second tent, aka closet, for everything else. AND keep clothes in giant Tupperware-type bins so they don't get all dusty. Make everything easy to find by throwing undies & socks in ziplocks. Hell, throw nearly everything in giant ziplocks. There is nothing worse than grabbing your "clean" towel and finding it covered in playa dust.

Another good thing to have is a ground sheet for your tent; make sure it doesn't extend out from the sides and act as a water collection device, though. Chez Heloise stayed dry during the downpours in 1998.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Im gonna be doin full on BIG ziplock bags/tupperware for my things but I'll be staying in my jeep for sleeping. Found it worked alot better than sleeping in a tent to get away from the sound and sun for nap time :p back in 05'

burn^on^yall!

ohyeah, nightly/lateafternoon vinegar/warm water soaks for your hardworkin feet...keep that playa foot at bay while enjoyin ur cool lager or mixdrink...Mmm...cause theres alot of hard dancin to be had!

2 WEEKS TO GO!!!!

HI ALL!!!

Two weeks from today we will commence construction of the 2009 BRC PLAYA PORTRAITS MUTANT VEHICLE POLAROID BOOTH!!!

Holy Shit! Talk about running around. No worries. Everything is in order and prepared for. It will be a stream line process. We are putting the final assistant schedule together. Once it is done we will publish it. AT That time, we can start to swap people. Please understand, this will be like a restaurant in that assistants can swap shifts. There will be a bulletin board on the RV for last minute swaps. Please let me know prior to it. I understand BRC has a lot to offer and you all have different things you want to do, see, experience. Therefore, it might be a wise idea to download (when available) the "What, Where, When" guide. That will let you know everything that is going on.

Polaroid Formats

We will be running to a couple of different film formats at the studio this year. During the day we will be using exclusively Type-55 Polaroids. At night we will be using type-59 Polaroids and Ektachrome 100VS Negative film. The Type-59 does not produce a negative, but I don't want subjects to walk away empty handed. The Type-59 will be shot exclusively for them. The negative I will keep to process after the event. Luckily the Type-55 Polaroid for day use creates both a negative and a Polaroid. Daytime portraits will be B/W and night time will be in color.

Ticket Arrival

Please check your inbox for the Burning Man letter regarding your ticket. Remember to follow the steps allocated in the letter. you only have one shot.

ATTIRE?

Anyone rocking anything fun out there? I am encouraging females in the group to dress HOT! Straight Mutant Vehicle operators have a tendency of listening and being directed by beautiful women more than us men. Use those god gifted manipulative abilities in our favor. That is not to deter the boys in the group. You are just as hot in your own right (not to hurt anyone's feelings). If you have questions about dress or feel like getting inspired go to www.burningman.com and look up outfits/dress under their image galleries. There you'll find years of material to coerce you into inspiration. I will be rocking vintage vests, boots, army fatigues, and other various Steampunk attires. I am trying to find an old 40's leather motor cycle helmet as an accessory. i will also be cutting my hair into the Half Mohawk I have been growing for 4 months now. Anyone have any suggestions on cool goggles? Those are a must and I think it is time to retire my ski goggles. impossible to see at night anyway.

FOOD

Ro & Adele. Have you guys been talking back and forth about potential dinner ideas while on the Playa? If so please share.

MISC. ITEMS?

Anyone bringing anything fun, off the wall, miscellaneously savvy to the Burn? Perhaps music for the camp? I heard someone had a pair of speakers willing to donate...? Is that still in the cards? Lets discuss.

Tickets

I just spoke with Bettie June our rep at the BRC Art Dept. She is fixing a glitch with the ticketing database. She will be distributing emails next week sometime. I apologize for the delay.

ARRIVAL/DEPARTURES

PLEASE post your intended arrival times/dates and departure times/dates. This will help us understand each others schedules and coordinate with those flying in. Break down for the studio will be taking place on Sun, Mon, Tue, Wed. Break down for the Camp will be Sun. & Mon. Because these times days overlap we will have two groups of workers that determined by their comfort level. One group will be in charge of breaking down the studio. The other will be breaking down the camp. Those comfortable with heights feel free to sign up with the studio. For camp clean up and break down will be those not fit for heavy labor. Reply to the post below. Cheers!

Scaffold

The scaffold order has been put in. 101 frames and around 204 cross members. The semi flat bed truck is being lined up now for running the freight between Sacramento and Gerlach. I am trying to get BRC to assist us with a fork lift to get it off of the truck fast and for loading it up at the end. right now the dates are being set up for scaffold arriving at Gerlach on Aug 27 and being picked up on Sept. 8th/9th. That will give us Aug 26 to start the camp build and finish it up on Sat. & Sun.
